At Downingtown East High School, our Red Cross Club is dedicated to making a real impact in our community and beyond. Recently, we achieved an incredible milestone that will directly aid those in need—securing $250 for the Red Cross Disaster Relief efforts in Los Angeles following the devastating fires.

As the president of the Red Cross Club, I had the opportunity to present to the National Honor Society (NHS) in a pitch for funding. Standing in front of my peers and advocating for this cause was both an honor and a challenge, but I knew that every dollar we raised would provide essential support to families affected by this disaster. With thorough preparation, a strong case, and a heartfelt appeal, I am proud to say that NHS generously pledged $250 to our club’s fundraising efforts.

This donation will go directly toward helping victims recover, providing emergency shelter, food, medical care, and other critical resources. The impact of this contribution extends far beyond our school, reaching those who have lost so much in the wake of the fires.

I am beyond grateful for the NHS’s support and for the dedication of our Red Cross Club members who continue to work tirelessly to make a difference. This achievement is a testament to the power of advocacy, teamwork, and community-driven initiatives.

Our work doesn’t stop here! We will continue to fundraise, volunteer, and spread awareness to support the Red Cross and its mission. If you’re interested in joining us in our efforts, stay tuned for our upcoming events and donation opportunities!

Together, we can make a difference.

— Prapti Patel, President of Red Cross Club
